Who is Jeffrey Michael?
“I am in the world, but I am no longer part of its narrative.”
Jeffrey Michael is an author who explores the unchanging nature of the human condition. His work draws out Practical Wisdom for everyday use, rooted in an Inner Life centered on personal encounter rather than abstract ideology.
The Role of the Watchman
I write from the perspective of the Watchman. A Watchman is assigned to a post with a “small horizon”—a discipline that forces absolute certainty of where each foot is placed. My duty is to observe and warn of the “Sensory Corruption” that creates the integrity gap.
Once the warning is given, my responsibility is complete. If the traveler changes direction, it is to their benefit; if they do not, the consequences are theirs alone. I do not offer “freebies” or easy comfort; I offer the reality of what is.
The Journey: Three Defining Moments
My approach was forged in direct, high-stakes encounters. Each of these moments cost me something significant; there were no freebies.
- 1. The Silence of the Professional: I asked a psychologist, “Do you incorporate your faith into your daily life?” Most would never ask this for fear of judgment. She arose and departed, foregoing reply. This rupture forced me to look inward.
- 2. The Confrontation of the Law: Facing a judge, I experienced the profound stakes of failing to align belief with action. It was here I learned that integrity is not a theory—it is a requirement for survival.
- 3. The Reality of the “Voices”: When asked, “Do you hear voices?” most lie to fit the norm. But to say “no” is to claim deafness to those around you. Answering “yes” changed my reality. I chose truth over the “standard” lie.
The Mission
To bridge the integrity gap and provide a map of the inner ascent, where conviction becomes choice.
I did not start writing until I had matured. Many spout off early what they think they know and confuse many along the way. My work is a reflection of a life encountered and applied.
